SAIT launches new strategic plan to build bold futures

Bold is making things happen and inspiring others to do the same.

Bold is being ready to compete. It’s leading with passion and energy. Bold is an action that challenges you to grow.

To be a global leader in applied education, you have to be bold.

Five years ago, SAIT set a new course for the future — to reimagine the workforce of tomorrow through applied education.

Today, we launch Bold Futures, a three-year strategic plan to take us further.

Let’s talk future #HereAtSAIT

The world is changing at an incredible pace — and it’s showing no sign of stopping.

The economy is becoming more diverse thanks to new industries and shifts in traditional ones. Disruptive technologies are affecting every job in every industry.

Change brings new challenges, new problems to solve, and more demand for people with the skills, attitudes and experiences to do the solving.

Bold Futures will prepare SAIT and SAIT grads for the reality of ongoing change.

The plan supports our continuous evolution — transforming SAIT to deliver even more advanced applied education. SAIT will ensure learners have the access, skills, networks, practical experiences and confidence they need for successful careers and lives. This is our commitment to building bold futures.

“High quality applied education and applied research at SAIT have the power to make industry more innovative and our region more competitive,” says Dr. David Ross, SAIT President and CEO. “Bold Futures is about driving forward and building on our strengths. We’re a community of doers, and this is an investment in our learners and Alberta’s future.”

SAIT exists for learners

Bold Futures centres around a renewed focus on learner and graduate success. It strengthens our academic quality and operating systems and builds innovative connections and economic impact.

Through Bold Futures, SAIT will train a future-ready workforce with more advanced technical, professional and entrepreneurial skills for a more complex world of work.

We will elevate academic excellence to deliver world-class learning experiences in a world-class physical environment. While, our commitment to innovation leadershipwill drive more firsts, nexts and new connections.

We will deepen the engagement between our learners, researchers, faculty and industry partners on campus. We will build new collaborations with academic and innovation partners around the world.

The goals in these three strategic pathways are informed by a series of foundational commitments central to how we work and learn #HereAtSAIT:

  • learner success
  • valuing our employees
  • industry engagement
  • a supportive learning and work environment
  • Indigenous engagement
  • health, safety and well-being
  • responsible governance.

These always-on, core commitments are an opportunity for ongoing growth and action — well beyond the timeframe of SAIT’s 2025-38 Strategic Plan.
