Bassett Furniture Turns Delivery Photos into Sales Strategy with DispatchTrack

Bassett Furniture has implemented a new approach to customer engagement by using delivery confirmation photos as part of its sales and merchandising strategy. Through its use of DispatchTrack’s delivery management platform, the retailer enables design consultants to view photos taken at the time of delivery to make personalized product recommendations to customers.
This strategy allows consultants to assess rooms virtually after delivery and suggest additional items such as rugs, accent pieces, or furniture for adjoining spaces. By using real delivery photos, consultants can offer follow-up advice tailored to the customer’s existing home décor.
“Because everyone at Bassett has access to DispatchTrack, we’ve turned delivery into a relationship-building moment,” said Lucy Coleman, Director of Operations at Bassett Furniture. “From designers to customer service, our whole team is part of the experience—and that’s changed everything.”
Using Delivery as a Sales Opportunity
The initiative relies on DispatchTrack’s integration with STORIS, which automatically syncs order data and facilitates delivery communications. This integration streamlines time window confirmations, real-time updates, and internal visibility across teams. As a result, staff beyond the logistics team—including designers and customer service agents—can access delivery information and use it to enhance the customer experience.
By analyzing photos taken at the time of delivery, design consultants are able to identify opportunities for further product recommendations based on customers’ interiors. This process supports customer satisfaction and helps generate additional revenue from completed sales.
Expanding Communication Channels
Bassett is also exploring additional tools, including text message notifications and customer feedback surveys, to further engage with customers after delivery. The approach reflects a shift in how furniture retailers can leverage delivery tools to create long-term customer relationships and personalized sales experiences.
